What happens when I report a content or user on Smerf?
Depending on the criteria you selected when you report, two things may happen:
You reported a user for a Community Violation.
- Your report is submitted to the moderation team for the community which you reported that User or Post for the violation. The moderation team is then able to review the report, post, or user's activity and take action: removing the offending post, issuing warnings, temporarily kicking the User from the Community, or permanently Banning the User from the Community altogether.
You reported a user for Inappropriate Content, Cheating / Hacking, or Spam.
- Your report is submitted to the Smerf Support team and will be reviewed. In the case of Inappropriate Content or Spam, corresponding action will be taken to remove the post or suspend that user's access to the platform.
- In the case of Cheating or Hacking, there is often limited if any evidence available to Smerf to determine whether or not the reported user is utilizing illicit software or performing unsportsmanlike actions. The report will be noted, their stats for the reported game will be taken into account, and the report will be compared against all past and future reports against that user. With all things taken into account, the Smerf Team works together with Game Developers to determine the veracity of the reports and both parties may take action accordingly.
